The new Visitor Center houses two beautiful theaters showing a short film, "A New Birth of Freedom" (22 minutes, $8 for adults, bus drivers comped), introducing visitors to the Battle of Gettysburg. It is very well done, a must-see for first time visitors, and replaces the Electric Map from the old Visitor Center. The stairway, partially shown here, will lead up to the Cyclorama, moved here from its previous location next to the old Visitor Center; it's not open yet, construction expected to be completed in September 2008.
