This was my second stop October 10, 2006, with a group of Episcopal priests and friends, after touring the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC (see separate gallery); St. Nicholas Cathedral (Russian Orthodox) is almost right across the street on Massachusetts Avenue. Plain but elegant on the outside, the interior is completely painted in icons, done by very talented Russian artists brought here specifically for this work in this cathedral. Very beautiful.
