St. Patrick's Cathedral, located on 5th Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets in New York City, is one of the largest and most beautiful cathedrals in the world. It is the largest decorated gothic-style Catholic Cathedral in the United States. It was started in 1858, and has been added to and renovated and refurbished many times over the years.

On one of my recent walks I took time to go inside and photograph some of the details of the interior. The photos don't really do it justice -- you have to see it for yourself. The cathedral is open to the public most of the time, so next time you're in the Rockefeller Center area, take time to walk over and look around.
