The Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, NY, was originally built as a private residence and most recently belonged to the wealthy Clark family of Cooperstown. Called the Fenimore House, this impressive neo-Georgian structure was built in the 1930s on the site of James Fenimore Cooper's early 19th century farmhouse on the shore of Otsego Lake, Cooper's Glimmerglass. Photos here show the front and back of the home, with its beautiful patio garden facing the lake.
