This close-up of lettering on a sign was also done with the +2 close-up filter on my 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor lens. The sharpness is very disappointing, but this was shot hand-held and at just 1/40 second, so it's not a good photo to judge by, I suspect. I'll do some more on a tripod and see what the difference is, if any.
