I bought a new lens today for my D80 -- the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens. It's undoubtedly the best bargain among Nikkor lenses. Fast and sharp ... it will come in handy for portraits, and other shots where I want to have more control over DOF (depth of field). Compact and lightweight, it will definitely find a place in my camera bag.

This shot of the water bottle was taken with the lens wide open, f/1.8, and shows off the shallow DOF possible with this lens. Nice bokeh, too!
